چکیده
Background: To assess the prevalence of serous tubal intraepithelial carcinoma (STIC) in women underwent opportunistic salpingectomy at time caesarean delivery (CD). Methods: We conducted a retrospective cohort study (2014–2017) who received either bilateral total or partial as postpartum permanent contraception procedure during CD. collected characteristics patients, type CD (elective versus unscheduled), surgical and related complications. analysed outcomes calculated point STIC. Results: enrolled 280 patients. Of these, 107 (38.2%) 173 (61.8%) respectively salpingectomy. Majority CDs were elective (81.8%); we did not find differences for intra- post-operative procedure-related Bilateral fimbriated-part tube was available analysis 245 patients STIC identified only one patient (prevalence 0.4%). Conclusions: The frequency undergoing is extremely low, less than 1%. Total can be proposed post-partum without increasing Further randomised studies are needed to confirm benefits safety this procedure.

Serous Tubal Intraepithelial Carcinoma: An Incidental Finding at the Time of Prophylactic Bilateral Salpingo-Oophorectomy
Background. Serous tubal intraepithelial carcinoma (STIC) is a precursor lesion for high-grade pelvic serous carcinoma. The incidence of STIC is estimated to occur in 0.6% to 6% of women who are BRCA positive or have a strong family history of breast or ovarian cancer. Case. A 56-year-old woman underwent robotic-assisted sacrocolpopexy, rectocele repair, and concurrent bilateral salpingo-oophor...

Serous ovarian carcinoma is now hypothesized to originate from fallopian tube epithelium (FTE). We investigated the FTE abnormalities in the patients with epithelial ovarian tumors. Our study included 55 cases of serous tumors (24 carcinomas, 8 borderline tumors, and 23 adenomas), 14 mucinous carcinomas, 22 endometrioid carcinomas, 5 clear cell carcinomas, and 2 malignant Brenner tumors. FTE wa...
متن کاملAdvances in serous tubal intraepithelial carcinoma: correlation with high grade serous carcinoma and ovarian carcinogenesis.
Early serous carcinoma in fallopian tube or serous tubal intraepithelial carcinoma (STIC), an early lesion limited to the epithelium of the fallopian tube and firstly identified from specimen obtained by prophylactic salpingo-oophorectomy, has provided insight into pelvic high grade serous carcinoma (HGSC). Increasing evidence indicates that STIC is a likely precursor for HGSC and several studi...

PURPOSE Statins are among the most frequently prescribed drugs because of their efficacy and low toxicity in treating hypercholesterolemia. Recently, statins have been reported to inhibit the proliferative activity of cancer cells, especially those with TP53 mutations. Because TP53 mutations occur in almost all ovarian high-grade serous carcinoma (HGSC), we determined whether statins suppressed...
